Budget Your Time 

If you are a New Patient, anticipate spending 75 minutes at the clinic for your first visit.  15 minutes is allowed for the necessary new patient paperwork, and an hour for your visit and treatment.

Returning patient visits vary, but 45 minutes is the average. 


What We Need from You 
Medical Responsibility 

Wholiistic kinesiology and NAET allergy desensitization treatments are an excellent complement to Western medicine.  Because Asian medicine has a different approach and priorities, many conditions are easily and well served by Acupuncture and Oriental medicine.  We can also provide complementary care for conditions which require a physician’s attention—for instance we often treat patients for the side effects of chemotherapy or assist with preparation for surgery and  recovery after surgery.

Because we have no lab and no hospital access we are not able to diagnose serious conditions and we do need you to take responsibility for your health. If you have, or think you may have, a potentially serious condition—a malignant growth, serious infection, unexplained weight loss or gain, severe abdominal pain, a difficult time breathing etc.— you need to seek other professional care. 

We can also provide some excellent referrals. 

Preparation & Clinic Etiquette

Loose fitting clothing is recommended so you can easily roll up shirt sleeves and pant legs. Expect to spent about 45 minutes at the clinic if you are a returning patient, and 75 minutes if you are new.  

We strive to create a peaceful, safe environment in our clinic so patients can fully relax into the healing process! At your first visit, a consultation will be performed in a private room to cover your health concerns and relevant history. During this time you will have an opportunity to ask questions or discuss concerns. Traditional diagnostic methods may be used to establish the root cause of your imbalance, including pulse reading and tongue inspection.

With a private room treatment, you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks.  After you are comfortably situated, your acupuncturist will complete the intake and begin the  treatment.

On subsequent visits, a briefer intake will be performed to gather necessary information.

• Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that can be easily rolled above the elbows and knees.
• Please refrain from wearing any perfumes, scented oils or scented hair products within the clinic, as many patients are very sensitive to fragrances.
• If you are a returning patient, arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time of your appointment. This allows time to remove your shoes, turn off your phone and use the restroom. Your appointment time is the time you should be comfortably relaxed  and ready. 
• Silence is golden! Please turn off your cellphones when entering the clinic.
• We recommend having something to eat about an hour before your treatment.
• If possible, set aside time afterwards to rest and not rush to your next engagement.
